In Portuguese, Christmas is called...

Christmas is the most important festival of the year.
Brazilian people decorate their homes, streets, and shops with lights and Christmas trees. Children write Santa Claus letters before Christmas to ask for special gifts. It's a special family time!
On Natal, or "Christmas Day," Brazilian people greet each other by saying Feliz Natal!

It means "Merry Christmas!"
When you meet someone on Christmas day, be sure to greet them with this phrase.
Brazilian people celebrate the holiday with their own special events and customs. The most popular food to eat on Christmas is...
Peru assado

It means "roasted turkey."
Roasted turkey is popular for Christmas dinner.
It's served with a large spread of dishes, such as kale with garlic, local fruits, nuts, Brazil's signature rice, and salad. Italian panettone is a popular bread for Christmas meals.
